The Child Counseling Center and Play Therapy Institute of New Mexico offers workshops towards the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.
The RPT process takes a minimum of two years with a maximum of 7 year time frame.Once everything, in the three phases, is completed you will apply for the Registered Play Therapist credential through the Association for Play Therapy.

Changes to the RPT Standards - Effective January 1, 2023
APT and the IDEA Team are excited to announce upcoming additions to the RPT Standards! These additions address issues of diversity specific to play therapy and apply to any RPT application received January 1, 2023 or later. It is our hope the additions signify our continued commitment to the competent practice of play therapy with diverse populations.
